For all you rock and rollers, get ready because you will love this story!
Picture this: You’re chilling at home, minding your own business, when suddenly the phone rings and your whole world gets flipped upside down. That is exactly what happened to Marie when Nicola Smith, CEO of the Gladstone Region, called her with some epic news. She had won the Ultimate Rock Star Getaway! Cue in the guitar solo please, …
Now let’s break it down. Marie and her husband scored direct return flights from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport to Gladstone Airport with Bonza, and it was effortless. The crew was all friendly, efficient, and the flight time?… Shorter than expected! Talk about rock ‘n roll efficiency.
Touching down in Gladstone, Marie was living for the small airport atmosphere, no endless walking or baggage claim dramas, just straight up smooth sailing. And don’t even get her started on the car hire situation. It was practically just a hop, skip, and a jump from the terminal!
After a cruisy drive to Agnes Water (just 1.5 hours!), Marie and her husband were ready to soak up the laidback vibes of our little slice of paradise. Marie has assured us that Agnes Water & Town of 1770 had made a lasting impression on her. Beautiful beaches, surf vibes and amazing sunsets were a couple of her favourites things.
They stayed at the 1770 Lagoons Central Apartments, where a picture-perfect pool awaited them for some chill time between dance sessions. And talk about luxury, their own private spa on the balcony! They felt like total VIPs, soaking up the pampering and hospitality. But the real kicker? The poolside BBQ that had them salivating with anticipation.
Now, onto the main event, the Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival. Marie and her husband loved every minute off it! No crazy crowds or endless ques, just good vibes, great music and enough space for them to bust a move. From a surprise main stage proposal by 8 Ball Aitken to his partner Jessy, plus digeridoo jams, this festival had it all!
And the fun did not stop there. Together with her husband Marie hopped aboard the famous pink amphibian of 1770 LARC! Tours for a LARC + Lunch tour full of adventures and stories with skipper Neil Mergard. Who doesn’t love a good tale from a seasoned LARC captain?! Well, 1770 LARC! Tours can definitely sign Marie and her husband up when they next visit for the Paradise voyage.
After three days of rocking out and living their best lives, it was time to hit the road back to Gladstone. But not before a pitstop at Tannum Sands and Boyne Island, because when you’re living the rockstar life, every detour is an adventure.
Back in Gladstone, Marie and her husband checked into The Mantra for some well-deserved R&R, and Greg the manager made them feel right at home. With a sports club on-site and whispers of a new Peppers on the horizon, these two were already planning their next visit to Agnes Water, Town of 1770 and the Gladstone Region before they’d even unpacked their bags.
As they jetted back to Melbourne with Bonza, Marie made one thing clear, this wasn’t the last time they’d be rocking in the Gladstone Region. So, until next time Marie!
